Week 1: Build
Here we are! It’s our first week and time to dive in. At the end of this week, you have a strong definition of emotions, understand their purpose, and have discussed emotional feedback loops. All of this is presented through a concept called "Broaden and Build”. What role do negative emotions play in your mental health? And can we harness the power of positive emotions?
Review the materials below and explore the learning prompts. Our group session will recap what you learned and offer time to explore and apply that learning.

Topic 1
Emotions defined.
Emotions are a brief conscious experience with an intense physiological, mental, and behavioral activity. This is all interactive. We don’t have emotions, we DO emotions. That means we can take ownership of our emotions, we can influence them. Let’s get started on our journey of owning our emotions.
Topic 2
Broaden and Build.
Positive emotions can have a contagion externally or a multiplier effect internally. Knowing this, we can, and should, work to cultivate positive emotions. How do we do that? How do we cultivate positive emotions? That’s what this segment will describe and which we’ll put into action during our group session.

Week 2
Empower
Our second week is all about emotional empowerment. We will define emotional intelligence, the role of emotional awareness in emotional fitness, and how to gather wisdom from your emotions. You’ll end the week with a formula for creating positive emotional states.

Week 3
Rules
You’re progressing along nicely now. Time to establish some rules for your emotions. Have you thought about the beliefs you have concerning how you experience and express your emotions? This week you will learn where they come from and how to change them.
Group: Sept 23 | 90 mins
A final round of pre-work to set you up for long-term success. Don’t forget your 1 on 1 session.
Week 4
Formulas
Emotional fitness is both about ending suffering and about building positive emotional strength. Our immersion ends with using discontent for emotional growth. You’ll explore a formula for ending suffering and establish goals to exercise your emotions in the weeks and months that follow.

Conclusion
At the end of this highly intensive 4-week experience, you’ll schedule a final coaching session with Johanna. Our goal is to help you bring what you learned into your daily life.
And since this is a pilot and we’re learning along with you, we’ll ask you some additional questions about your experience and get your feedback on this immersion and anything else that would help you author a thriving life.
